Over the weekend the Cannon Stake had their yearly Father & Sons camp out at Beaver Ridge (church property). I made the camp out a total family affair. I invited my Dad, my little brother Jayson, Brother in law Mike and nephew Ethan. Then I took Taitan and Danny drove up with us. We had a great time. I thought we could all drive together up but as my mind figured everyone could fit, my mind forgot to add sleeping bags, coolers and other items. So my Dad had to drive as well.
At Beaver Ridge, we set up our camp in a new area where the church as made concrete Tables and benches. They are really nice to have. However where there are new tables and benches there are not fire pits. The fire pits are 10 yards away in the over grown Forrest. We tired to movie them but they were bolted down and unmovable. Although Danny might say others wise. We decided to just make our own, found some rocks and made a pit. It worked for the time we were there. We missed the fireside that the stake had because we were hungry. The rest of the night was spent talking and enjoying the great outdoors.
As for sleeping, I sent up a air mattress in my Tahoe (fit perfect) and threw out some sleeping bags. However everyone else slept in a tent. Danny had a three foot high air mattress, so he never touched the ground. I believe everyone slept good except for my Dad that froze most the night. It was actually cold up in the mountains for August. I do have to say, I would have slept good but Tait had to sleep right up next to me, I am sure I was warm. He did not give me any room to sleep and with being right next to my my left arm was up in the air all night and then a pole to hold the blanket over our heads but cause I did not want him to wake up at 5:30 when the sun started to come up. I finally had to move my arm around 7 am and Tait was up. My arm still is stiff.
After getting up, we ate breakfast that the stake provided, went and did a little ziplining (ethan loved that as did Mike) and then we packed up and took off for home around 10 am. It was nice to just get the boys together and go camping. Although my Dad recorded us on his video camera, who know what might have been send on that. I will have to keep you posted. Anyway it was a great over night camp out with the guys!!
