I finally finished my first week up at the U and half way through my second. I have to say its been pretty rough getting back into the swing of things. I am tired, overwhelmed with homework, work, family life and finding time to really sleep. I know I know welcome back to school. What has made the transition hard is the longs days of going to work, leaving work to go to school, going back to work, then leaving work to go to school. There is not break or free time to just relax for a moment or two. And parking is crazy at the U, don't get me started on that. Then finding time to study when you kids just want some attention from there Daddy who they have not seen for a day or two.
I do have to say I was a little nervous about going to the U as a BYU fan. I don't know why? maybe just all the rivalry games I have attended over the years, I had this idea that all Utah fans, and students are bad (now don't start calling me Max Hall), those games are not too friendly as anyone who has gone can testify. I have come to realize that the two Universities work together more then the uneducated fans on both sides understand or fail to see. Its been a good transition. I have even come to see why some people change alliances or at least conform to the school they attend. My wife is really concerned about this. I still bleed blue, I just study red! I actually like the campus and the people I have met so far.
I hope just to get the rust and kinks out quick so I can get moving again. I can see a little day light at the end of the tunnel again and only have like 4 semesters left if all goes well.
