BLACK GOLD

So at my grandmothers funeral, my cousin Scott talked about his favorite beverages from the local 7-11 and such. He talked about a drink he called "Black Gold" its a third Pepsi, a third Coke and a third Dr. Pepper. He says he lives by it. Well it has been just over a year since my grandma died, and for some reason I thought of this drink. I dared to try it today. It was like a shot to the mouth when I took a sip. This could be the stuff that brings me back to drinking Soda Pop again. I have had to drink two 48oz of water to equal this stuff out. But I still want more. Its like a drug of soda. It is way good. Between the Pepsi and Coke it gives both drinks that extra taste that makes it good, then the Dr. Pepper takes out that gritty taste that both Pepsi and Coke have. It is just pure joy!! yummy! If you dare to try this it will give you that sweet tooth for more. It needs to have a warning sticker. I just thought I would take a second to post this glorious drink I have drunk.

My Birthday!!

So its been like a week and a half since my birthday but I figure I can still update my blog on that day. To start off the day I took work off just to have the whole day to myself, but also the fact Allie told me too or she would call Ken (my boss) and ask for it off for me. Anyway, the first item on the agenda was finding my present. Alicen hide it down stairs and I had to find it. If you have seen my basement it was going to be an adventure. I did finally found it and I got a laptop. I was so excited to finally get one, (although since my birthday I have used it maybe a hand full of times and Alicen uses it on a daily bases). It was a great present to get though. I am excited to use it. After my present, and getting dressed we went to eat breakfast or more like brunch. We went to the Original Pancake house up in Sugarhouse. It was really good. I recommend it to anyone that wants a good breakfast restaurant. McKinley got the smiley face Pancakes and both Allie and I got the Omelets. They are huge and so good.
After we went to Target to get our family pictures, we had been talking about getting them done and me having the day off made it a perfect time to go. Both the kids, did good for the first 15 seconds and some how we got them taken. After the pictures and waiting to see them I had to take the kids around the store. Not because they where rowdy but the fact that the lady taking the pictures was too worried that McKinley was going to break something. She was really irritating and more worried about the little things Kins was doing. But we got a steal of a deal with pictures. We got 5 sheets of pictures for like 26 dollars. Coupons are a wonderful thing. The picture came out great. I am sure my wife will post them on her blog before long. So check them out.
After pictures we dropped off the kids at my sisters house and went to get massages. I had not clue what was going on and just before we got to the Formans for the massages I got a call from my Grandma Kettenring asking how my massage went. I informed her I did not know and that she had blown the surprise. It was kinda funny. But back to the massage, I was really nervous to have one. Never had one before and once I know I had to get totally naked that was even worse. But I "Man'd Up" and boy was it nice. It was weird at first then really relaxing. I almost fell asleep after a couple minutes.
As for the rest of the night, we went to dinner at Johnny Carinos Italian restaurant. It was a nice place and OK food. We got the two for one deal and that is not a bad price. I got the angel hair with some type of olive and green pea topping, Alicen got the butterfly paste with creamy sauce on top. After we where going to see a movie but nothing really good was out. So we went back to my sisters and picked up the kids after talking to Mike and Robyn for a couple of minutes. It was a good day. I had a great Happy birthday!!

The Phantom

So on Tuesday night, Alicen called to see if I wanted to go to the play at Hales theater tonight rather then going to school. I asked what play was going on and it was their version of the phantom of the Opera. Hales theater called it- "The Phantom."

I said yes, because I like the phantom of the opera, so she called her work and got the tickets and I skipped class to go see it. We got 6 tickets for the show from a friend at her work. We called my parents to see if they wanted to go, as well as calling Robyn to came. We all met at the Crackle Barrel over by Hales theater to eat. It was OK food but has gone down hill since last there.
As for the play, it was really different. When you think of The phantom of the opera, you think of the music and the story you have seen before. The Hales Theater version was totally different then anything I have seen before. It was really good but short of perfection. It did not have the original music or story line. The acting was good and every ones voice was perfect in their own way. The girl that played Christine was beautiful and had a great voice. The guy that played the phantom was good but did not look the part. All in all, I would recommend the play to any one. It was good in its own setting. I was glad to go and spend time with my wife and my parents. I think they we're surprised to see we actually asked them to go and a surprise they accepted to go. It was a good evening and a good change of pace from just work and school. I hope everyone had a good time because I know I did.

Shout out to my Cous!!!

I just want to post on my blog that this last week in our Ward. My cousin Danny got called as the second counselor in the bishopric. It was so good to see him get that calling. Danny is a great guy with a good spirit. He will do great in his new calling, and really do the ward good. I am proud of him. I am glad that he got the calling and not me. Just thought I would give a shout out to him and congratulate him on his new job in the church.

Economicial Stress

So the economical stress of the country finally hit my employment. At Intermountain Concrete, they finally had to lay off some employees. Lucky for me, I was not one of those let go. The whole idea was scary. The day before we were to know who is staying and who is going- there was talk and comments said that made everyone nervous. You really don't see the problem until it hits close to home. The good thing about my work is that they don't want to lay off anyone unless really needs be. I liked how they handled this situation. They started by closing down a store that was helpful in the area serving but not making a lot of money for the company. Then moving employees from the store to another store. Then as for employees let go, one was a part timer, the other was a soon to be retired employee. The last was a good worker just in a bad situation. I don't like to see anyone in the company leave but they way it was done really helps know the company cares. In these stressful times it good to know that I still have a job and doing my best to keep it that way. I hope the economy can get back to normal and better.

Slacker!!

So I have been slacking over the last couple of weeks to update my blog. But I have come to realize I have not done anything to really blog about. My wife took care of her birthday and the zoo on her blog. Then between school, work and finding a house. I really have not done anything that I find worthy to blog about. So that is why I have slacked off. I only write to say I am a slacker but its not my fault. So other then its April 1st (all fools day) and the weather in Utah is Snow. I have nothing more to day. And no the snow is not a April fools day joke. We really have snow.
