Corn Dogs

Last night for dinner, I was frustrated with trying to figure out what to make and eat. Alicen was going to the library to study for finals and I had to make the kids something to eat. As I opened the freezer I saw a bag of fries and I knew I could get out our deep fat frier. Then I saw hot dogs- I knew then I was destined to make homemade Corn Dogs!!! So I made the corn meal batter, got the hotdogs on skewers and started to cook. Lets just say I will not be working in the Corn dog stand at the Utah State Fair any time soon. My first Corn dog fell apart in the cooker (oil too hot I guess), turned that down, then the second one the batter fell off the hot dog. So I tried freezing the dogs to see if that would help. NOPE!!! I gave up and cooked fries- just cooked the hot dogs on the stove instead. My dream of being a corn dog maker just flew out my new windows! Sad sad day.
Anyway I found out I needed to flour the dogs and then batter and cook. If I had only known last night. Maybe I still have a chance (if allie lets me cook with grease again). Also since I am talking about deep fat frying- those of us that do just a idea but deep frying a twinkle has been said to be great! just a thought..
